Thanks to the sponsorship of the Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Science (SHAMS), visa applications will be processed on complimentary basis for all registered and paid attendees of the HGM 2011 Meeting.

To avail of this great offer attendees should have registered and paid their fees and booked and confirmed their hotel accommodation at one of the official hotel through the HGM 2011 PCO. (Please refer to the Accommodation Page)


Please read carefully below information to ascertain if you are required to apply for a visa prior to travel to Dubai. We do our best to ensure below information are up-to-date but we also encourage you to check your visa requirements with the UAE embassy or consulate in your country of residence.

If you have already registered to attend the HGM 2011 and require assistance with your visa process please email pco@hgm2011.org quoting your registration ID.

General Information

Nationals of the following countries do not require Visas prior to arrival to the UAE:

Andorra, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brunei, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, New Zealand, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Portugal, Qatar, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States of America, Vatican.

All other nationalities require a visa prior to arrival to UAE.

(Kindly note that visa assistance will only be provided for registered and paid delegates who book their hotel accommodation through the HGM 2011 professional conference organizing company)

British Overseas Passport Holders

Delegates holding British overseas passports are not exempted from the requirement of visas to enter the United Arab Emirates and therefore require a visa prior to arrival.

Travel Documents & Identification Certificates

Travel Documents & Identification Certificates are not recognised as valid Passports by Immigration. Delegates travelling on with such documents will not be permitted entry to UAE.
The only exception to the above rule is Hong Kong Chinese nationals holding Identity Certificates with 44 pages, which are accepted by Immigration Authorities.



Visa Application Deadlines

A visa application form will be sent to all delegates upon completion of their registration formalities. Please note that the deadline to avail of the complimentary visa application, sponsored by SHAMS is 10th February 2011. So please ensure that you register early to avail of this offer.
