PASNP (Pan Asian Personal Genome Project) is an international consortium for mapping genetic diversity of Asian popultions. It used about 2000 human samples to genotype them using Affymetrix 50K typing chips. The results were analyzed to show the diversity and possible migration routes of Asians that include Indians and Pacific islanders. PASNP 2.0, the second phase of PASNP will use whole genome sequencing to map all the major ethnic groups in Asia. Any one is welcome to initiate, participate in, and contribute by providing the consortium with , samples, and research capabilities. |
