Biosketch:
During his PhD, Guillaume Bourque worked on genome rearrangements in evolution and cancer with Pavel Pevzner at the University of Southern California. In 2002, he moved to the University of Montreal to start postdoctoral research on gene regulatory networks with David Sankoff. In 2004, he accepted a position at the Genome Institute of Singapore, where he became Senior Group Leader and Assoc. Director of Computational & Mathematical Biology. At this Institute he helped setup and was responsible for the IT infrastructure, LIMS and analysis pipelines associated with 10 Next-Generation sequencing instruments. In 2010, he moved to McGill University as a faculty member in the Department of Human Genetics and the Director of Bioinformatics at the McGill University and Genome Quebec Innovation Center. His research interests are in functional genomics with a special emphasis on applications of next-generation sequencing technologies.
