Biosketch: Fahd Al-Mulla received his Medical Doctorate and Ph.D. from Glasgow University in the field of cancer genetics and metastasis. Dr. Al-Mulla is the Director of the Research Core Facility in Kuwait University Health Sciences Center. He heads a Molecular Pathology Unit, which aims at delivering state-of-the-art theranostics. As Assistant Vice President for Research, he headed the office of External Research Collaboration in Kuwait University with a mandate to build collaborative partnerships, invest institutional outputs, generate capital and resources, and promote public awareness as regards to the importance of scientific research outputs in resolving society's problems and in expediting the development process. Dr. Al-Mulla is a pioneer in the identification and characterization of metastasis suppressor genes. It is expected that his work will result in the identification of clinically useful cancer biomarkers in the near future. |
