At present, most testing in medicine is done to diagnose and treat existing clinical problems. genomic data in clinic care may turn this paradigm on its head.In this talk, I will identify some of the challenges presented by obtaining genomic data prospectively, include the certainty of false positives, the dilemmas posed by pleiotropy, and limited availability of resources for follow up.I will then outline strategies for optimizing the use of genomic data. |
